We've been separated twice and near divorce at least 3 times. Unless you count being completely miserable for 3 years, in which case it's really only twice. Anyway, a little over 2 years ago, we spent 6 months making regular weekly visits to see a couples and family therapist. An older woman, she wasn't into the psychobabble BS that you see on so many of those websites you mentioned and she seriously opened our eyes and turned the tide of our marriage. Something I learned you might want to evaluate for yourself. My wife and I are nearly identical in the personality dept. While that may sound romantic, it is a death nail for most romances. Most people Jerry Maguire it; that is, they look for someone that completes them in some way. My wife and I, being so much alike, are strong in the same places and weak in the same places and we butt heads over the crap that we both do that irritates us about ourselves. I don't know that it necessarily applies to you two, but being so interested in so many of the same things, and since you took the risk to get personal, I thought I'd share something personal about me. Oh, and speaking as a heterosexual male, Simon deserves a good smack for twittering while getting head.
